While these ECUs share the physical connector footprint of the OBD2B standard, they utilize distinct internal architecture and communication protocols required for K-series engine management.

The OBD2K designation identifies ECUs that feature updated processing capabilities and sensor integration specific to the K-series platform.

Important

Although OBD2K ECUs share the same physical connector shape as OBD2B units, they are not directly interchangeable without specific wiring modifications or conversion harnesses due to differences in pinout assignments and signal processing.
