Atmel AT29C010 Flash ROM
Technical overview of the Atmel AT29C010 1Mbit (128kb) FLASH-ROM chip, including its application in ECU tuning and pinout reference.
The Atmel AT29C010 is a 1Mbit (128kb) FLASH-ROM chip. These were commonly found on older computer motherboards from the Pentium I and Pentium II era.
ECU Implementation
While this chip can be used in Honda ECUs, it is not a drop-in replacement. Due to pinout differences compared to standard 27C2560 or 29C2560 chips, hardware alterations or wiring adapters are required to make this chip functional in an ECU.
Programming Considerations
When burning data to this chip, you must ensure the start address corresponds to the address space the ECU expects for its ROM map. Incorrect addressing will result in the ECU failing to boot the firmware.
