The AEM will work.
Crash course in tuning, very basic info.
If you have a turbo car: tune the fuel map to hold 12:1 anytime in boost. Log your Wideband on WOT passes and adjust the fuel map to hold a stable 12:1 all the way to redline. Then do the same with part throttle except 14.7 is the target A/F. I like to make it 12.5-13:1 from 10" of vacuum to 0.
If its a NA car, tune WOT to 13:1 or a lil leaner if you want. Then 13.5:1 for 10" of vacuum to about 2" of vacuum.
Timing is a whole other thing. There's way too much to it. Try to use a base map for your car and load boost tools. Make the retard .75/psi of boost for starters. Then do some WOT passes and watch your EGT. If it climbs fast up to 1500+, change the retard to .5/psi of boost. Do another WOT pass, if its still too hot try .4 and then .3. Monitoring a knock sensor is a good idea, specially if you get into the .4 or .3 area. Could be possible that if you get all the way to .25/psi of boost that your base map is shit.
Good luck
