Hey guys, i've been poking around here for a few days and trying to decide between uberdata and crome and dive right into tuning. Well, the verdict is in and crome pro it is. Having everything in one program will make it that much easier for me to pick up on tuning.
For a little Background, I picked up a 92CX EG hatch in good condition a couple of months ago. Currently I'm using it for my daily driver so as to not rack up miles on my STi. Eventually I want to do a balls to the wall build with a USDM 1994 B18C1 that I sourced from a buddy of mine. I plan on boring it to 84mm and fully building the bottom end; pistons, rods, and darton sleeves. Also plan on upgrading obviously various other components, walbro, 1000cc injectors etc. I'm leaning towards a GT35R or GT40R setup a la full race or elsewhere.
I'm in no hurry for this project to begin, and it will probably take me at least a year mabye 2, as I want to take my time and build the car right from top to bottom.
I've read the wiki, the faq, and various sites on making a base map. Of course I had to start by trying to create a basemap for such a radical setup; couldnt make it easy on myself.
So via xenocrons tutorial I've created a base map (I hope for something similar to the setup I hope to run one day) tell me if my motor will explode if I try to crank it on this thing or if Im somewhere in the ballpark...
For this map I've done the following settings:
remove checksum
Running GM 3 Bar MAP sensor
Retard ignition .75 degrees per pound of boost
adjust for turbocharger efficiency 120%
Fuel multiplier for 1000cc injectors
I should probably change the engine capacity to match the output from the 84mm bore, but I need to find what that would be in cc's
