I've removed the knock board from my ecu as the engine its running doesn't use a knock sensor, and I dont plan on fitting one either. The reason I took the board out is because I used a zif & dip socket when chipping, so there was no room for the knock board to go back in it's original location.
Now i've been running the car like this for at least 6 months now with no apparent problems, but since I stumbled upon a thread suggesting that jumpers should be removed as well as disabling the sensor in the rom, I wondered if I should really do the same.
So can somebody confirm this information is relevant for my ecu? The info is from another thread to adding a knock board to a JDM P30.
remove R78, R77 (Reverse Side)
add R37 (RS), R50 (RS), R38 - marked 221
add C82 - 4u7 16v tant
I obviously want to swap the add with remove and vice versa for my purpose.
This is a pic of my ecu which has the same components. (JDM P72 003 AS)
