Ok, so i'm in the process of chipping and converting a pr4 to vtec to run my LS/vtec... I soldered 2 wires in and installed a switch on J1.....


Now i'm waiting on my 5151s parts, i had some odered from allegro as a sample , so i havent really tried it out yet but i figured SOMONE has had to have done this before.. its making me kind of nervous also i usd the blue multilayer ceramic .1uf capacitors in place of the brown capacitors on the chipping...


I have to ICs that look like the 5151s from NTE but i havent had time to find out if the pins are the same or not on them

Oh one more thing, i'm proud of myself for figuring out how to effectively and quickly use copper braid that stuff really works wonders ( this is my first time to solder since 6th grade like 7 or 8 years ago)

wil i be able to swith it when i have the engine running.

switching J1 is very possible. And has been done many times.
switch off = PR4 maps, switch on = chip

all though never switch it when the engine is running, it will cause problems.
