There are many heat-sink type resistors available from Digikey and the likes.. they cost ~$5-20 depending on the ohm and watt ratings.

I used a pair of 5ohm 10watt resistors on my brothers' bike for the blinker circuit so he could use LED blinkers..

otherwise it blinks about 30hz instead of ~1-2hz
