p28 issues on a 3sgte

So I'm running into issues with my set-up. I did the jumper harness from my factory toyota harness with pigtails to the p28 honda ecu. I had the chipped burned with a base map that should make the 3sgte run. Well, getting spark and fuel, but it won't fire. The weird thing is, if I take the jumper pin off the ecu and try to start her up, she'll fire no problems, but will eventually cut-out and die. Obviously the instrument values on the hondas are off from a toyota. But I put the jumper pin back in and nothing. I have tried this on 2 different known working ecus. Could it be a bad burn or a wiring mess up??

When I'm cranking the engine the tach is reading at about 2000 rpms with the honda stuff on. But once my stock 3sgte ecu stuff is back in it'll crank at about 500 before she comes to life. I'm just stumped and don't know where to look. I did my wiring through the pinouts a member on another forum made. Went through the wiring and everything looks like it wired up right. Just really want to figure this thing out. Oh and with both ecus I'm getting a CEL, but once I try to check what the code is, it just stays solid. On one of the ecus I put into my buddies civic he gets no code. The other that we tried on his car threw a code 68?? Weird right, never heard of a code 68 before tried googling but no luck.

please help me figure this thing out.

Re: p28 issues on a 3sgte

he was running the honda distributor. that's the only way to run a honda ECU on a toyota engine at the moment. i'm still working on a translator board.

project is dead though. engine fire destroyed the car.

for some reason we never got it running. i think the adapter was off timing-wise. it would run poorly, but the timing was always like 26 deg advanced and pulling timing out of the maps never worked.
