P06 coverted to p28 throws CEL help needed

Hi, newish to this in the UK Im running BRE on my PW0 etc.... me and a mate trying to get this P06 sorted to use on a MB6 right just got the moates coversion kit to this P06 G00 , have removed the resistor j12. added socket board , put chip in IC4 (74HC373n), 2 cap's in C52&C51, resistor in R54, datalogger plug CN2 , cap upgraded C14 and put the jumper in J1.

Using chrome pro with osterich etc to map.

This will run the car on the P06 as a stock ECU as soon as we connect the jumper the car throws a code and hunts at 2k in limp mode with rev limit at 4.5k & running rich. when disconnecting the jumper it resumes normal running , now is this because we need to mod for IAB's? and we need to do this for the Odb2 wiring here http://wikitest.pgmfi.org/twiki/bin/view.pl/Library/AddIABToP28 we can hear it sucking in much more air as soon as we touch the jumper.
Please advise
heres a couple of pics of the ecu
thanks in advance.

Did you disable the PA sensor? If that's not it it's your chipping job...

Re: P06 coverted to p28 throws CEL help needed

sorry for being a complete noob but what is the PA sensor? We just followed the moates video and gave it ago and cant seem to find out what we need to do where we've gone wrong.
The MB6 does have IAB's etc the same as the early integra's so we need to be doing that anyway I assume?

Re: P06 coverted to p28 throws CEL help needed

ah this ECU is EDM doesnt have that pressure sensor, It would be there on the right of the ecu in the pic if it was a USDM ecu i assume?

Re: P06 coverted to p28 throws CEL help needed

PA sensor is the atomospheric pressure sensor which according to the pic, your ECU does not have. It's the 3rd checkbox on the Crome OPTIONS tab.

LOL, you answered while I was typing - yes, to the right of the flash chip

Re: P06 coverted to p28 throws CEL help needed

also the CEL is solid when the cars running with the jumper connected and wont give a code, as soon as we shut it off its cleared or its just solid when we try to check the code with the engine running.

heres the standard ECU from the 99 MB6 just in case anyone is interested

Re: P06 coverted to p28 throws CEL help needed

also this is a B18c4 etc so we also need to fit a vtec conversion kit
this one? as its a 11f0 board http://www.moates.net/vtec11f0-conversion-kit-p-149.html?cPath=69
But im thinking that these two issues the IAB & no Vtec mod wouldn't lead to a solid CEL or could they? It should run normally but with no vtec etc.

Re: P06 coverted to p28 throws CEL help needed

Neither of those will give a solid cell. VTEC will give code 21 if the map is looking for the solenoid and it isn't wired up. Did you put the checkmark in Crome for the PA sensor to disable it?

Re: P06 coverted to p28 throws CEL help needed

yes ive tried it with everything disabled etc and with everything on been though all sorts of combinations ealier just to check.
so basically its going to be down to a damaged track on the board or poor connection is most likely? or we have fried something whilst chipping?

Re: P06 coverted to p28 throws CEL help needed

Try to run it with a p30 rom just to see if your map is good. I'd check that to confirm that rom itself isn't faulty. Also remember to solder a jumper between pins A4 - D6 on the bottom side of your ECU if wan't to use P72 base. If not - you'll get code 20 and 22.

well we are just using the osterich plugged in atm and havent burned a eprom as yet and just putting the standard b18c5 or b16a2 maps on it to even get it to work at all the osterich seems to be emulating correctly etc just as soon as we jump J1 its solid cel :(

I also have a osterich runnin my PW0 ecu atm as im in the process of mapping that I will try to swap them over just to check its not that too but my laptops HDD just died too its not been a very good 2 weeks!

Re: P06 coverted to p28 throws CEL help needed

Sounds like bad chipping or bad emu itself. Had same sh*t happening when my emulator just made its last session. It was all god, but after hours of looking i decided to program a chip. Just to be sure. It worked flawlessly. Try to burn a chip and see how it goes. Just remember to disable all sensors which are useless ;)

D11 is not necessary as the ECU is chipped but not converted. I would double check your chipping job.
