hello i have a honda civic 94 EX with motor D16A9 and the ECU ODB1 p29 (37820-P29-I00-770-104526) is bad, i try to find this ECU but i had no luck, my question is if is posible to use another ODB1 ecu that is compatible ( ex. p28, p06 ) that will make the engine work fine with no problems.
and thank you for your help.

You can try using a manual P06 ecu.
What exactly is wrong with the P29? no fuel pump? how do the capacitors look? any fuzz or black leaks on the main board?

Re: Help ECU p29

thank you Katman, the problem with the P29 ECU is that it doesn´t prime the fuel pump and also a check engine light ON with no codes, change the main relay, and also all the capacitors.

i been told that i need to change the IC17, and also the Q3 transistor because is leaking but with this Q3 i don´t see the part number, I have been researching and in a forum found tha it´s 2SD1779, and now trying to find the replacement for Q3

Betting it's IC17.
IC17 is key way to several important ECU functions.
I recently replaced caps and then IC17 on a P28 that was acting 'dead'. No FP activation, no injectors firing, nor any regular ecu functionality that the test bench LED's were showing. After IC17 was replaced (last item I replaced after all the caps replaced).... boom back to life.
