Can IC1 be swapped with other processors? For example replace a 301 processor (P06) with 274 processor (P75)?

Processor named M66207, digits after is built-in software version.

So you can swap IC1 to any M66207, but need to install extended ROM chip with software fits to PCB with proper options (VTEC, atmo pressure sensor, injector test circuit...)

So the extended ROM chip is IC2 right?

If you talking about P06 ECU - extended ROM is IC3. You have to make "chiptuning" as it described anywhere so CPU can use proper software stored in IC3.

Thanks for that as I thought IC2 was the backup ROM for LIMP mode and contained the information relative to the engine the ECU was made to operate. Is IC2 the backup processor and IC3 the code for IC1?

Any CPU M66207 installed in ECU has factory built-in software marked with "-XXX" code on top. If you replacing CPU (and you cannot change factory software) you must make "chipping" ECU to make CPU use software stored in IC3.

And this new software stored in IC3 must correspond your engine and ECU hardware (VTEC switches, atmo pressure sensor, injector test circuit...).

Yes for large case ecu, IC2 is for Check light. IC3 is for external rom for IC1

So did anyone sucesfully swap the IC1? I think my IC1 is bad and want to replace it, I have a P30-G01 and it has a M66207-318 inside. Can't find an exact same one so I was gona put in an M66207-301. Just wondering if that will work? The chip is NEW so will that work or do I need to program it and if I need to program it is that even possible?

Can use difference processor number as long it come from same board design. 11F0, 1720 or 1980. cannot use processor from 11f0 into 1720 board

It has a 02D011F0-1500 board and a M66207-318, looked at some pictures of other ECUs with the same board and some of them have the M66207-301. So I can just put a NEW one in and everything will work if I use an eeprom? The chip is NEW and i'm worried that I would have to program it or something, has it been programmed already in the factory or does it just not need to be programed if I use an eeprom?

Also if anyone is wondering why I want to replace it, it's because it looks like the RxD pin on the chip has been burned, can't connect to the ECU via the datalogging port (CN2) and the CEL is always on.
