VTEC High Cam Profile
An overview of the VTEC High Cam profile, which is optimized for increased power and performance at higher engine RPMs.
In a VTEC0 engine, the High Cam profile is engaged at higher RPM0 ranges. This camshaft profile is specifically engineered to maximize volumetric efficiency and power output at high engine speeds.
Operational Overview
The VTEC system utilizes a dual-profile camshaft design. While the Low Cam0 is optimized for fuel economy and low-end torque, the High Cam features increased lift and duration to allow for greater airflow into the combustion chamber.
Note
The transition between the Low Cam and High Cam profiles is controlled by the ECU based on specific load, speed, and temperature parameters.
