ECU-based nitrous control replaces traditional wide-open throttle (WOT) switches by allowing the ECU to directly trigger the nitrous solenoid. This integration enables the ECU to recognize when the system is active and automatically transition to dedicated fuel and ignition maps.

Tip

Combining a dry nitrous kit with high-flow injectors (e.g., 450cc) and ECU-based dual-table switching provides the precision of a wet kit with the reliability of electronic management.

System Requirements

To implement ECU-controlled nitrous, the following components and configurations are required:

  • Programmable ROM: A compatible ECU ROM capable of handling nitrous logic and dual-table switching.
  • Solenoid Wiring: The nitrous solenoid must be wired to a switched output on the ECU (typically a spare output pin).
  • Sensor Inputs: Accurate throttle position sensor (TPS) and RPM signal inputs are required to define the activation window.

Warning

Ensure that the ECU output driver is rated for the current draw of the nitrous solenoid. If the solenoid exceeds the driver's amperage limit, a relay must be used to prevent damage to the ECU internal circuitry.
