European Domestic Market (EDM) refers to Honda vehicles produced specifically for the European market.
OBD1 Hardware Differences
EDM0 OBD1 Civic Integra0 ECU0s generally lack several sensors and circuits commonly found in USDM0 models:
They typically resemble USDM0 ECU0s but with fewer populated components on the circuit board.
OBD2 and Beyond
After 1996, EDM0 Hondas utilize the OBD02 family of ECU0s; however, they are not OBDII diagnostic compliant. These units feature only a 3-wire DLC0 and communicate exclusively with PGM testers.
EOBD (European On-Board Diagnostics) is the next generation of diagnostics. All petrol-powered road cars and light trucks manufactured after Model Year 2000 must comply with this standard.
