Electronic Advance

Electronic Advance refers to a motor setup where Spark Advance can be controlled electronically by the ECU. Electronic Advance replaced Vacuum Advance because it is much more flexible for tuning, and allows much better control of the motor.

Distributorless direct-fire distributorless ignitions are largely replacing electronic advance now (early 2004).
