Real-Time Programming (RTP) Hardware Reference

Overview of Real-Time Programming (RTP) hardware for Honda ECU tuning, including the EasyRTP v1.0 interface and SRAM modification methods.

Iniciante 3

Real-Time Programming (RTP) allows for on-the-fly calibration changes to the ECU during engine operation. This document outlines the hardware components required to enable RTP functionality.

Hardware Components

The following hardware solutions are used to facilitate real-time tuning:

  • EasyRTP v1.0: A single-sided PCB adaptation of the original Doc design, utilizing the DS1230Y NVRAM chip.
  • EasyRTP Installation: Hardware modification procedures required to integrate the EasyRTP v1.0 board into an OBD1 ECU.
  • M5128 SRAM Replacement: A method for replacing the standard 2K M5128 SRAM chip with a DS1220 NVSRAM to enable RTP capabilities.

Note

Ensure all soldering modifications are performed using high-quality leaded solder and proper ESD protection to prevent damage to the ECU logic board.
